Hi Stan,

As your message was posted nearly a year ago, you may now know about your mother's siblings. But just in case you don't - my grandfather was one of your mother's brothers. His name was George. If you would like any further info, please email me on kazegan@live.co.uk. I have been doing family history research for about 3 years now and it started by trying to find out about George, as my mother did not know anything about his family. George was in First World War from age of 15, suffered severe shell shock and didn't marry until his 40's. He worked for Macnade Farm in Faversham.

Regards,

Pick Hill Cottages
Hello Marianne,
I was just looking at old hoppicking films and came across your message. I remember Bert Weston and his wife very well. I am Martin and my brother was Nick. Our father was Stanley Day and we owned Pickhill. I seem to recall two sons, Ray and Kenny. Also two daughters Audrey and Dorothy. I may be wrong on the names as it was a long time ago. Have very fond memories of the times, not only the hopping but also the fruit picking which Bert used to help us with. My wife who was born in London remembers that she had a best friend called Audrey Weston who used to go Hoppicking in Kent. I do not know if it is the same Audrey but it,s quite a coincidence. Hope this gets to you alright and I look forward to hearing from you and swapping memories. I left Pickhill in 1984 and now live on the Isle of Man.
Regards Martin

Curtis DNA Research
I'm searching for male descendants of the 16th and 17th century Curtises of Tenterden and Appledore to participate in a "Y" chromosome test for genealogical purposes. It is a simple non-invasive test, no cost, whose results may help solve old questions of descent. Please get in touch directly - john@edgemere.com
Thank you.

Family History of Playford
Hi
I'm researching my husband's mother's family. His grandmother was a Flossie Playford born in 1886 in Flossie's father was George and her mother was Elizabeth (Baker). Any information on this family or suggestions on where to find info would be very helpful. Flossie came to Quebec,Canada before 1900...I'm guessing the early 1890's. From there to Rochester, New York where she married a Fred C Gerling.
Thanks,
Cathy
